Funny, funny, funny. In The Left Hand of Darkness — Ursula K. Le Guin’s 1969 novel set on the planet Gethen, whose inhabitants are sequentially hermaphroditic and change sex during a monthly period called kemmer, she uses a far less complex biology to explore the nature of human relationships--friendship, sacrifice, the nature of social hierarchy and governance. You've enriched the genre. Brava Ursula leMac!
Oh I used to love science fiction! But now it usually seems so formulaic. My favorite science fiction book used to be the Foundation Trilogy by Asimov but about 10 years ago I read a book I loved even more called “A Canticle for Leibowitz” which has an unlikely whiff of “A Confederacy of Dunces” in its tone.
When writers like Vonnegut, LeGuin, Murakami, Tokarczuk, even Ishiguro introduce what I would call science speculation into their dramatic depictions of real events, truth emerges as an ineluctable embellishment. Your talent uses it to exploit satire much as Vonnegut did and I would like to see you wield this rapier.

I should stay away from swords of any sort including rapiers as I might easily grab the pointy end.
